Family Worker

My name is Sarah Bell and I am the Family Worker at Battledown. I am a mum of two boys; my younger son attended Battledown when he was younger, which makes me an ex-parent as well!

I contact families to meet up for a chat to see how I can support you during your time at Battledown.

For example I can offer help filling out forms including benefits, eg. Carers Allowance, DLA, Blue Card, funding applications; free nappies for children over 4 years; help with sourcing equipment and adapted clothing; arrange and accompany on visits to view primary schools or other appointments, general advice on parenting, accessing support groups, specialist services or external parent/carer training courses.

I am a parent representative on several panels within the Local Authosarah bell.jpgrity where I can feed back parents views on services and help to bring about positive changes for you and your child. I am also on the BFG (Battledown Friend’s Group) where I am keen to promote plenty of opportunities for families to come together socially to enable friendships to develop.

Don’t miss the INFOCUS sessions bringing you speakers on topics you have asked about and take the opportunity of the crèche to relax, meet other parents and swap ideas.

I am also available to talk to if parents are struggling with their child’s condition, awaiting a possible diagnosis or just want a friendly shoulder because sometimes it helps to share your worries.

I am at the centre Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and I can be contacted at any time via email or you can leave a message with reception and I will return your call.
